The Secrets of Maximum Thrust(2003) Movie: Behind the Scenes and Bloopers

The story wasn't executed very well with the competition for "Street Wars" instead of FNF "Race Wars" being pretty lame. Beverly Lynne's racing boss Ava was very unlikable and we're supposed to be on her side instead of Junior - the big bad racing villain who has a hilariously badly acted Training Day moment at the very end of the movie.

7. Are the plot and production values solid? Amazingly, yes. It looks like a real movie, and the plot is almost good enough to hold one's attention without the sex scenes. That is the film's strength. The racing scenes are cool, the film has a good look, and the plot has a beginning, middle, and end. The film is quite skillfully edited. Unfortunately, the positives in areas 6 and 7 are not as important to genre fans as the other five areas - in which the film is average or below average. In addition, Tuna disagrees on point seven anyway, so that doesn't really leave anything as a compelling draw. TUNA's THOUGHTS

The meaning of the IMDb score: 7.5 usually indicates a level of excellence equivalent to about three and a half stars from the critics. 6.0 usually indicates lukewarm watchability, comparable to approximately two and a half stars from the critics. The fives are generally not worthwhile unless they are really your kind of material, equivalent to about a two star rating from the critics, or a C- from our system. Films rated below five are generally awful even if you like that kind of film - this score is roughly equivalent to one and a half stars from the critics or a D on our scale. (Possibly even less, depending on just how far below five the rating is.My own guideline: A means the movie is so good it will appeal to you even if you hate the genre. B means the movie is not good enough to win you over if you hate the genre, but is good enough to do so if you have an open mind about this type of film. C means it will only appeal to genre addicts, and has no crossover appeal. (C+ means it has no crossover appeal, but will be considered excellent by genre fans, while C- indicates that it we found it to be a poor movie although genre addicts find it watchable). D means you'll hate it even if you like the genre. E means that you'll hate it even if you love the genre. F means that the film is not only unappealing across-the-board, but technically inept as well. Any film rated C- or better is recommended for fans of that type of film. Any film rated B- or better is recommended for just about anyone. We don't score films below C- that often, because we like movies and we think that most of them have at least a solid niche audience. Now that you know that, you should have serious reservations about any movie below C-.

Nose elevation increases and is less variable below 0.1 BD. (A) Nose elevation magnitude and (B) timing relative to the pectoral fin stroke (N=5 individuals). Each point in A is a trial mean. Estimated marginal means and their s.e.m. are shown by the thick horizontal bar and error bars. Different lowercase letters denote means that are significantly different between water depths. In B, the timing of maximum elevation during swing to the right (filled circles) and left (open circles) is plotted relative to right and left fin cycles, respectively. Nose elevation timing is directional for elevations to the right in 0.9 BD and for both left and right elevation in 0.7, 0.1 and 0.0 BD. When nose elevation timing is directional, a circular meanangular variance is plotted (thick bar and error bars). Nose elevation timing is less variable in 0.1 and 0.0 BD than in 0.9 BD and higher. Each point is an individual maximum elevation. 0 deg (dashed line) is the start of fin adduction for the right and left fins; 180 deg is the start of fin abduction for the right and left fins. Asterisks denote significantly lower angular dispersion than at water depths above 0.1 BD.
